The Perfect Fit

For the Timberwolves need of a true shooter from deep, Buddy Hield would be the ideal selection. The 2016 Naismith College Player of the Year averaged 25.7 points and 5.7 rebounds in his senior season, leading Oklahoma to the Final Four before being defeated by the eventual champion in the Villanova Wildcats.

Hield was a sniper all season long, finishing with a 45.7 percent success rate from behind the arc. His ability to come off screens and get off shots quickly will translate well in the NBA game.

Sticking him out on the perimeter would give Wiggins room for driving lanes while allowing Towns to operate both on the block and around the high-post area.

NBADraft.net compares him to players such as C.J. McCollum and James Harden, which would bring huge expectations, but Hield has proven to be on the same level shooting-wise as those two.

One improvement that will need to be made for Hield is his ability to handle and attack the rim. Early in his college career, he depended on his slashing ability to make an impact in the game, but after developing his great three-point shooting, he settled more for outside jumpers.

The good thing is, it’s known that Hield has those skills in his repertoire.
