7. player. 73. Age: 22 (12/17/1993)
Height, Weight, Wingspan: 6’5″, 212 pounds, 6’9.25″
Slash Line: .501/.457/.880
Season Averages: 35.4 MPG, 25.0 PPG, 5.7 RPG, 2.0 APG, 1.1 SPG, 4.0 3PM
The Denver Nuggets must face the troubling reality that, for as talented as they are, there’s no true star on the roster. Nikola Jokic certainly has that potential, but Denver lacks a true go-to scoring option.

Reigning John R. Wooden Award winner Buddy Hield could potentially fill that role.

One of the primary red flags on Hield’s resume was his height, as many feared he’d measure at 6’3″—an undersized mark for a shooting guard. He turned heads at the 2016 NBA Draft Combine by checking in at roughly 6’4″ without shoes, and 6’5″ in shoes with a very solid 6’9.25″ wingspan.

He’s not an elite athlete, but those measurements are quite close to that of a prototypical NBA shooting guard.

Hield’s bread and butter is shooting, and there’s no one in this draft class who does it quite as well as he. He made an otherworldly 147 3-point field goals on 45.7 percent shooting from beyond the arc as a senior, and projects to continue shooting the lights out in the NBA.

Hield may or may not become a star, but this is the perfect NBA era for his pursuit of stardom.
. Shooting Guard. Oklahoma Sooners. Buddy Hield
