The Phoenix Suns have an overwhelming amount of perimeter talent, and drafting Jaylen Brown would only accumulate further wealth. What Phoenix lacks, however, is a player who can dominate the defensive interior.

Deyonta Davis is higher on my board, but Marquese Chriss’ ability to hit the 3-ball makes him the more likely choice for the Suns.

Chriss’ primary knock was his thin frame, but he came to the 2016 NBA Draft Combine at a better-than-expected 233 pounds. He also measured at 6’10″—an inch taller than his listed height—with a 7’0.25″ wingspan and a 38.5-inch max vertical leap—wonderful physical gifts.

Every team that needs a stretch 4 who can block shots—you can count those that don’t quicker than those that do—will be eyeing him on draft night.

Chriss is an inexperienced player who only picked up the game a few years ago, but he’s already come a long way. He has the offensive tools to be a stretch 4 with a solid jump shot, immense value in the pick-and-roll, and the defensive upside to be a genuine anchor.

Chriss is a tantalizing prospect who could come off the board in the Top 10 this June.
. Power Forward. Washington Huskies. Marquese Chriss . 13. player
