The Orlando Magic have an abundance of promising young talent on the roster already. Thus, it’s hard to call anything a need when Elfrid Payton, Victor Oladipo, Evan Fournier, Mario Hezonja, Aaron Gordon, and Nikola Vucevic are present.

With that in mind, it stands to reason that Orlando could gamble on the otherworldly potential possessed by Skal Labissiere.

The only thing Labissiere could’ve done for himself at the 2016 NBA Draft Combine was prove that he’s physically intriguing. That’s exactly what he did, measuring at just under 7’0″ tall with a near 7’3″ wingspan—although his standing reach of 8’9.5″ is nowhere near as impressive.

Coupled with his explosive leaping ability, it’s understandable for Labissiere to remain one of the more coveted prospects in this draft class.

For as erratically as he played in 2015-16, Labissiere still managed to average 2.5 offensive rebounds and 4.2 blocks per 40 minutes. That’s a fair illustration of his value as an athletic player who can protect the rim and exploit lazy boxouts on the offensive glass.

Labissiere also has LaMarcus Aldridge potential offensively, but in reality, this pick is all about upside and calculated risk.
. Power Forward. Kentucky Wildcats. Skal Labissiere . 11. player
