The Milwaukee Bucks investment in Greg Monroe yielded positive results towards the end of the 2015-16 NBA regular season. Thus, it stands to reason that Milwaukee will give Monroe or John Henson an opportunity to start at center.

The reality is, neither big man better fits the Bucks’ current roster structure than Jakob Poeltl.

Poeltl shined at the 2016 NBA Draft Combine by posting a longer wingspan than he was previously believed to possess. He was measured at 7’1″ in length at the 2015 Nike Skills Academy, but checked in at nearly 7’3″ in Chicago.

That should help Poeltl’s draft stock, which was already as solid as any big man’s in this draft class.

Poeltl is one of the safer prospects in this draft class, and that knowledge comes with the necessary recognition of his upside. He’s an excellent defensive player and rebounder, and has become a skilled offensive weapon who can post up and pass from the high post.

Poeltl made dramatic strides from 2014-15 to 2015-16, and it stands to reason that, still only 20 years old, he’ll continue to improve.
. Center. Utah Utes. Jakob Poeltl . 10. player
