For those wondering what kind of challenge the Oklahoma City Thunder would present to the defending champion Golden State Warriors in the 2016 Western Conference Finals, Monday night’s Game 1 was a cold dose of reality.

In a 108-102 road victory at Oracle Arena, the Thunder stole Game 1 and home-court advantage from a Dubs squad that had only lost there twice throughout the entire 2015-16 campaign. It was the first home loss of the postseason for the Warriors and left them on the wrong side of a 1-0 deficit.

For a 73-win Warriors team that went 3-0 against OKC during the regular season, the opening loss was a bit of an eye-opener.

Are the Warriors in trouble against a Thunder team that just beat the 67-win San Antonio Spurs? Was Game 1 just a fluke that the Dubs can overcome? Here’s a look at the five biggest takeaways from Golden State’s opening loss in the Western Conference Finals.
