2016 NBA Draft: 8 Most Intriguing Prospects

Thon Maker is making the rare high-school-to-NBA jump. He is ranked ninth by Scout.com‘s recruiting services in a talented 2016 class, but his transition to the NBA may not be as smooth.
Maker, 19, is selected 40th overall in DE’s mock draft to the New Orleans Pelicans. Maker plays physical, which is good for his size. His work ethic is going to have to be unmatchable and he must be patient as he matures and grows into the NBA game.
Maker can step out and shoot the three, but his offensive game is limited, at this point in his career. His lack of strength hurts him in the post on both ends of the floor, but he plays physical and doesn’t back down. That will help him in his entire game, including rebounding.
Maker, who’s a highly-coveted high school prospect, may have team’s shy away from him because of the lack of experience. Age-wise, he’s as old as most one-and-done prospects, but Maker lacks the college level experience.
It’s going to be a project for Maker moving forward, but his height and physicality makes him an interesting prospect in the 2016 NBA Draft.
