I’ve written at length about how promising an NBA prospect Sheldon McClellan is. The Miami Hurricanes star was very impressive during the NCAA Tournament, and he continued to help himself at the 2016 NBA Draft Combine.

His somewhat underwhelming wingspan hurts, but McClellan has the athleticism and shooting stroke to make a career in the NBA.

Standing at just over 6’6″, McClellan has the size, albeit with an underwhelming wingspan, to play the 2. Coming off of a season during which he shot 40.6 percent from 3-point range and 83.8 percent from the free throw line, his jumper is undeniably strong.

When all else fails, McClellan has a 41.5-inch vertical to bail him out.

McClellan is one of the most athletic perimeter players in this draft class, and that will continue to push him up draft boards. He entered the second-round discussion by thriving in March, but he turned heads in Chicago.

McClellan will be a second-round selection, if he’s drafted, but he has the potential to play a significant role in an NBA rotation.
