Shooting Guards

Unrestricted Free Agents (Mavs): None

The Dallas Mavericks are in a good position with shooting guards. They have Wesley Matthews signed through the 2018-19 season and he’s their obvious starter. They could simply be looking for a player to add depth to their team.

Courtney Lee – Charlotte Hornets: Pursue

Lee is another player that was brought into make an impact on the Hornets this season. He provides teams with three-point shooting and a solid eight to ten points per game. He’d be a great sixth man in Dallas.

Eric GordonNew Orleans Pelicans: Avoid

Though Gordon was once known as one of the premier shooting guards in the NBA, those days have passed. This past season he suffered from a broken finger on his right hand … twice. His last few seasons have been injury-riddled and that’s the not kind of player the Mavs will be looking to add after their disastrous ending to the season because of injuries.

Kevin MartinSan Antonio Spurs: Pursue

Martin is a player that has been on the Mavs’ radar for a long time now. They’ve attempted to trade for him in the past–even as recently as the 2016 trade deadline. His scoring is the type of bench skill that would benefit the Mavs and there’s sure to be mutual interest between both sides.

Gerald HendersonPortland Trail Blazers: Pursue

Henderson isn’t the type of player that is going to shoot his way into the lineup, but he offers another intriguing value: reliability. Henderson has played at least 72 games in the past three seasons, meaning that he’s going to be there when you need him. He isn’t a major rotational players but would give the Mavs some depth behind Matthews.
