Draymond Green has quickly become one of the most versatile players the NBA has to offer. As seen in the past two seasons, Green has displayed ability to shoot from deep, finish around the rim, make every hustle play, and guard all five positions if called upon.

He has continued to prove his argument on why he is so valuable in the league today by leading the Golden State Warriors while the two-time MVP, Stephen Curry, nurses his knee injury. Curry missed Games 2 and 3 of the series with the Houston Rockets after tweaking his ankle. In his return during Game 4, he slipped on sweat that appeared to be on the court, spraining his MCL, and missed the first three games of their series with Portland before returning for Game 4.

Their 2-1 series lead and high level of play in Curry’s absence can be credited because of Green’s efficiency and leadership. Both he and Klay Thompson are carrying the load, but Green is filling up the stat sheet at will by averaging 25.7 points, 12.0 rebounds, and 8.7 assists per game against the Blazers.

As he has done all season, Green continues to be a matchup nightmare for the Blazers. He’s been torching Mason Plumlee by playing out on the perimeter and converting on 45.5 percent of his threes. When the Blazers adjust and stick Al-Farouq Aminu on him, he becomes more aggressive and looks to attack inside.

There was concern whether or not the Warriors could still be dominant without Curry, and Green is leading the ship and showing NBA fans that the reigning champs aren’t a one-man show.
