Cleveland Cavaliers – Matthew Dellavedova
The Cleveland Cavaliers are in the midst of another championship run, and making his return to the big stage is the Aussie more fondly known as Delly. Matthew Dellavedova has become an integral piece to Cleveland’s bench as a backup to Kyrie Irving and the complement to everything that Irving struggles to do.
Delly will never lead an offense fully, and he needs a ball dominant player next to him to perform well, but his bulldog mentality on defense and shooting exploits on offense create a perfect complement to the players in Cleveland. He also has improved as a facilitator, averaging 4.3 assists in just 16.5 minutes per game in the playoffs.
The main reasons for Dellavedova in the rotation are for his chemistry with other members of the Cavs, his defensive presence, and his long distance shooting. He is the defensive complement that the Cavs will insert when they need a defensive stopper at point guard, and he also shot 41.0 percent from behind the arc during the regular season.
He will likely cost a fair amount to retain, and certain teams will target him to try and pry him away from Cleveland, but Delly is in the perfect situation now, and as long as LeBron James is there, he will be effective and happy in a bench role.
