Portland Trail Blazers – Allen Crabbe

The Portland Trail Blazers surprised nearly everybody on their way to the fifth seed in the Western Conference this past season, and they are currently playing in the second round against the Golden State Warriors, meaning they are unlikely to be playing for much longer. That’s how good the Warriors are.

That being said, one of the biggest contributors all season for Portland has been Allen Crabbe. Crabbe has excelled as the sixth man off the bench and has put up efficient offensive numbers, averaging over 10 points per game on nearly 40 percent from beyond the arc.

At only 24 years old, Crabbe is not done growing offensively. Hopefully, he’s not done growing defensively either because he still leaves much to be desired on that end of the floor. Of course, he just received his first consistent minutes, so the team that signs him to his next contract is hoping for all-around growth.

Portland has a few needs this offseason, and many have wondered if the need for a high quality big man is higher on the list than Crabbe. I don’t believe it is though. With Mason Plumlee, Ed Davis and Noah Vonleh in the fold, Portland’s bigs are still developing, and they are not nearly finished yet.

Neither are C.J. McCollum, Maurice Harkless or Crabbe. All of those players were consistent contributors throughout the 2015-16 season, and if they all come back next year as a better, more cohesive unit, then watch out for the Blazers.

Overall, Crabbe should receive relatively lucrative offers from a few teams, but Portland should try and match them. The best is in store for Crabbe.
