New York Knicks – Mike Conley

A team in desperate need of rebuilding around youth isn’t likely to do so while Carmelo Anthony is in the fold.

The New York Knicks will always compete for the playoffs while Melo plays in the Big Apple, and even though the team may be best served to complement Kristaps Porzingis, a perfect point guard for the triangle exists in Mike Conley.

Conley does handle the ball in the pick and roll in Memphis, but in New York, a borderline elite volume scorer and a young building block await. He would finally get the opportunity to shine in a big city, and he will likely get a better chance at winning while in the Eastern Conference. For a team that has needed a building block at point guard for a long time, getting Conley would be the best scenario.

The Knicks have struggled while fielding veteran incumbent Jose Calderon and their first round draft pick in Jerian Grant. Neither has done anything to believe they could be the future at the position, and in Conley, the team would bring in a leader and a floor orchestrator.

Conley has better options than the Knicks if he wants to leave the Western Conference, but New York has no better option that’s potentially interested than Conley.
