Minnesota Timberwolves – Joakim Noah
A Tom Thibodeau man through and through, Joakim Noah is the glove-like fit for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
As soon as Thibs was named the head coach and personnel control man for the Wolves, Noah had to have skipped a heartbeat. The Wolves need a complement to Karl Anthony-Towns, and the defensive skills of Noah would surely fit well. He already understands the system Thibs ran in Chicago, and he’s an improvement over any option the Wolves currently have.
Offensively, Noah wouldn’t have to do much, but as a solid facilitator, he can add to the playmaking in the lineup, and for great finishers such as Andrew Wiggins, Zach LaVine, and Towns, this would be greatly appreciated.
Most importantly though, Noah is an emotional leader, and one who would make sure that everyone in Minnesota understands how to build championship habits. All of the pieces are in place for the T-Woves to be great, but they need time and some on-court coaching in order to build a true winning culture.
Joakim Noah’s time in Chicago may be up, but his demeanor and complementary skills are just what the doctor ordered in Minnesota.
