4. Mark Jackson

There’s no telling if Mark Jackson would accept an offer to become the next head coach of the Memphis Grizzlies. Jackson has earned his reputation as one of the best motivators in the NBA, however, and he should receive consideration for the position.

If nothing else, Jackson can come in and help the Grizzlies continue to play elite defense and win 50-plus games.

Jackson’s first year with the Warriors was a rough one, but it must be noted that Stephen Curry missed 40 games that season. With a healthy Curry, Jackson helped Golden State make a powerful jump from 23-43 in 2011-12 to 47-35 in 2012-13—a 24-win improvement and a rise of .225 in win percentage.

In 2013-14, Jackson led Golden State to its first 50-win season since 1994.

Now back in the broadcasting booth, the NBA community has been anxiously awaiting Jackson’s next opportunity to opportunity to be a head coach. Every vacancy seems to come with a mention of his name, but that shouldn’t make teams jaded.

With the right coaching staff, Jackson can lead the Grizzlies to a successful resurgence.
