Point Guard Honorable Mentions

In the original Space Jam, Nawt stole the NBA talents of Charlotte Hornets point guard Mugsy Bogues — a short, energetic point guard with insane ball handling skills…who didn’t actually get to do very much against the Looney Tunes. This time, Nawt would have quite a few quality options to choose from to carve out a more prominent role.

From a pure entertainment standpoint, Russell Westbrook would’ve normally been the choice 10 times out of 10. He isn’t universally beloved, but that might actually make him an even more fun pick.

As a far more explosive player than Bogues ever was, Westbrook would give Nawt some insane dunking powers too. Plus, how fun would it be to see a Monstar do the patented finger guns celebration Westbrook does when he makes a three?

Westbrook is a marketable star who’s done well in his own commercials, but there’s another point guard who almost has to be chosen for this role (more on this later).

Chris Paul is the “Point God,” and since he’s good friends with LeBron James, he has to be in consideration. Kyrie Irving is an unbelievable dribble, a walking heat check and he’s also LeBron’s teammate, so he’ll be in the running too. Finally, Isaiah Thomas deserves a nod for probably being the closest thing to a modern day successor of the original Bogues/Nawt pairing.
