Tony Snell. 22. player. 24. Experience: 3rd year, New Mexico. SF. 2015-16 Chicago Bulls

Tony Snell was thought to be one of the Chicago Bulls who would benefit from a new offensive system under new coach Fred Hoiberg in 2015-16.

After all, Snell had shown marked improvement in his second season in 2014-15, increasing his numbers across the board with more playing time.

But instead, Snell regressed in 2015-16, putting up the dreaded double of less production with more playing time.

Snell played in 64 games, starting 33, and averaged a career-high 20.3 minutes per game. But he shot a career-worst 37.2 percent from the floor, his scoring average dipped from 6.0 points per game to 5.3 and he turned the ball over at the highest rate of his career–1.4 per 36 minutes.

But at least he committed a lot more fouls, so there’s that.

The Bulls missed the playoffs for the first time in seven years after finishing 42-40 and Snell–the 20th overall pick out of New Mexico by Chicago in the morass known as the 2013 NBA Draft–didn’t exactly make a push for a contract extension with his play in his third NBA season.

His per-game averages:

Season Age G GS MP FG FGA FG% 3P 3PA 3P% eFG% FT FTA FT% TRB AST STL BLK TOV PF PTS

Chicago picked up Snell’s $2.368 million option for 2016-17 on Oct. 30, 2015, and has until the end of October to decide whether or not to offer Snell an extension beyond his rookie contract.
