11. player. 73. Experience: 10th year, North Carolina. SG. 1979-80 Denver Nuggets. Charlie Scott

Charlie Scott had been a two-time ABA All-Star and a three-time NBA All-Star earlier in his career, but by the 1979-80 season, he was just a shell of his former self.

Still, he got a lot of run with a Denver Nuggets team that collapsed from 47 wins and a playoff berth in 1978-79 to a 30-52 mark.

Scott was a historic figure, the first African-American granted a scholarship at the University of North Carolina, and he signed with the ABA’s Virginia Squires in the summer of 1970.

He jumped to the NBA’s Phoenix Suns near the end of the 1971-72 season after Phoenix acquired his rights from the Boston Celtics, who had selected him in the seventh round of the 1970 NBA Draft.

Scott was an All-Star three times with the Suns before he was traded to Boston in May 1975. In December 1977, he was dealt to the Los Angeles Lakers and landed in Denver in a June 1978 trade.

Scott retired after the 1979-80 season.
