13. player. 93. Experience: 7th year, Maryland. SF. 1987-88 Philadelphia 76ers. Albert King

The Philadelphia 76ers of 1987-88 already have a member on this list, David Wingate at No. 20. So how they even managed to win 36 games with the 12th-ranked player on the countdown is fairly remarkable.

The 76ers signed Albert King as a veteran free agent, sending a second-round pick in 1988 to the New Jersey Nets as compensation.

But King came to Philadelphia and was generally awful at the small forward spot, despite getting 44 starts. In the high-octane, high-percentage ‘80s, King managed to shoot just 39.1 percent.

Yikes.

The younger brother of Hall of Famer Bernard King, the Brooklyn prep star was the 10th overall pick by the Nets out of Maryland in the 1981 NBA Draft.

He was traded to the San Antonio Spurs in August 1988, but didn’t make it to season’s end, waived in March 1989.

He finished that season in Italy, played a year in Israel and spent a year in the Continental Basketball Association before getting a look with the Washington Bullets in 1991. He earned a spot on the roster out of training camp, but was waived in November 1991 and retired.
