4. Andre Drummond

Andre Drummond returning to the Detroit Pistons is one of the biggest formalities of the offseason. Not only has he proven his worth through incredible above the rim skills, rebounding and mobility, he’s also a restricted free agent, so Detroit can match whatever deal is thrown Drummond’s way, likely a max offer.

Drummond led the league in rebounding, placing second in defensive rebounds, but blowing everyone out of the water with his offensive rebounding at 4.9 per game. At just 22 years old, his athleticism isn’t leaving anytime soon, and he’s learning to play the game offensively.

He really excels in the pick and roll as the “dive” player, someone who goes right into the middle of the paint and collapses the defense. It’s possible that no one in the NBA has quite the combination of size, strength and speed that Drummond possesses, and at such a young age, he may have the capacity to grow his game.

He still has problems working in space though, and he has a limited amount of playmaking ability when he receives the ball. Don’t even get me started on his free throw missing shooting. All those taken into account, he’s still a max candidate, which means he’s doing what he can do really really well.

Drummond isn’t going anywhere, folks. Stan Van Gundy won’t allow it. If he does, then he needs a new job.
