9. Charlotte Hornets: Bobby Portis

It’s clear Michael Jordan wanted another chance at nabbing the perfect stretch big to slide next to Al Jefferson on the front line. Unfortunately there was someone better available than Frank Kaminsky.

Bobby Portis checks off a lot of important boxes for the modern NBA big man. He can score inside and out and run the floor. Defensively he’s not as good of a shot blocker as his 6-foot-11 size might indicate, but he plays with great effort and rebounds on both ends of the floor.

If the Hornets had a do-over with their pick, I’m sure that they would select Portis.
