Odds Each Denver Nuggets’ Player Returns Next Season
Darrell Arthur – Age 28 – Player Option $2.94 million
Darrell Arthur is in line for a raise given an interesting skill set and a veteran presence he brings to the Nuggets. He’s a smart player who plays good defense and has a reliable jump shot, and every single playoff team could use a guy like Arthur.
He maintains that he wants to return to Denver, but he would likely be doing so in a backup capacity anyway, and many teams have the funds to pay him upwards of $7 million per year. This is too high for the Nuggets to go, especially with Lauvergne in the fold and Kenneth Faried starting.
Arthur has always been a solid player, but during his three years in Denver, he has either underperformed or sustained an injury. He’s also a great guy, and he wants to be in the city of Denver, something that has eluded the players recently.
If he really wants to be in Denver he may take a discount, but that doesn’t seem likely on a rebuilding team – 30 Percent.
