Axel Toupane – Age 23 – Non-Guaranteed $874,636

Axel Toupane is in a similar situation to Sampson, except he has proven to be slightly more effective this year. He was the MVP of the NBA’s Developmental League and he showed he had the potential for shooting and getting to the rim on offense. This quantifiable skill, combined with his avoidance of turnovers, gives him an advantage over Sampson in my mind.

With the potential to play the shooting guard and the small forward position, Toupane has a slight advantage over Sampson, though by just a little bit. Neither is likely to make it given their non-guaranteed contracts, but if the decision comes down between the two to be the 15th man, my money’s on Axel – 15 percent.
