4. Boston Celtics (2007-08)

Ahh yes, the blockbuster deal that saw Kevin Garnett leave Minnesota and Ray Allen depart from Seattle and thus, the Big Three was born. Combined with Paul Pierce, who was already a Celtic for many years, Rajon Rondo at the point, Kendrick Perkins as the enforcer in the middle and Doc Rivers at the helm, the Boston Celtics made their case for a championship run during the 2007-08 campaign.

Having never played together, the trio seemed to click instantly, possibly because they were seemingly on the second half of their careers and were even more focused on the task at hand. They did away with the Eastern Conference and dismantled the Los Angeles Lakers in a 39-point blowout to close the NBA Finals for their 17th banner.

This team also had the strength to win more than one ring in their time together. Of course, injuries to Kevin Garnett derailed them the following year. A grueling seven-game rematch against the Lakers saw them on the losing side of the equation and multiple conference battle with the Miami Heat saw their championship window dwindle away.

The team eventually broke up, seeing Allen team up with his Heat counterparts, while Pierce and Garnett moved on to Brooklyn. And Doc Rivers coaching in LA with the Los Angeles Clippers. Their time together may have been short-lived, but no one will forget the dominance they brought to the league those four years.
