Detroit Pistons: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope

When did Kentavious Caldwell-Pope turn into Ray Allen? I’m not exactly sure, but there’s no doubt he’s been the Detroit Pistons‘ best player on both ends of the floor through the first three games of the series.

On the offensive end, KCP is averaging a team-high 17.3 points per game, shooting 47.5 percent from the field and 40.9 percent from three-point range. He’s added in 4.3 rebounds and 3.0 three-pointers per game as well, all while getting out in transition and knocking down open looks in the half court.

On the defensive end, Caldwell-Pope is chipping in 1.7 steals per game and has displayed some pretty stellar defense on everyone from Kyrie Irving to Matthew Dellavedova to LeBron James himself. The Cavs’ Big Three is still scoring at will, but Caldwell-Pope is closer to one of those NBA All-Defensive teams than people realize.
