Charlotte Hornets: Kemba Walker

Do I have to pick one? Like the Portland Trail Blazers, it’s incredibly difficult to pick a Charlotte Hornets MVP given the way they’ve been dominated through the first two games of the series. Al Jefferson‘s provided a nice boost off the bench, but Kemba Walker is really the only answer that makes sense here.

Averaging a team-high 24.0 points per game, Walker is one of only two players on Charlotte’s roster that can say they’ve had a “good game” so far in this series. His 29-point, five-rebound, three-assist Game 2 was the only thing that kept the Hornets in the game, especially after Nicolas Batum went down with the ankle injury.

He’s only shooting 3-for-11 from three-point territory, but he’s slightly upped his field goal percentage to 42.9 percent. Heading back to Charlotte for a do-or-die Game 3, the Hornets will be hoping Kemba’s clutch gene comes through.
