6. Chicago Bulls

Having missed the playoffs in 2015-16, the Chicago Bulls aren’t in exactly in the best position to take on a player who’s hungry for a postseason appearance. Beyond the obvious concern, however, is the reality that Chicago has a postseason-caliber roster.

The question is, would the Sacramento Kings view Derrick Rose as fair compensation for DeMarcus Cousins?

Chicago’s lottery pick would have to be involved, and the Bulls may end up siding with Jimmy Butler being traded instead of Rose. The reality is, Sacramento wouldn’t come to the table without the promise of at least one of those players being included.

Whichever player were to remain in Chicago, they and Cousins would form quite the on-paper 1-2 punch—one around which the the Bulls could build their future.

Chicago’s trade package could include either Butler or Rose, along with the valuable lottery pick. Nikola Mirotic and/or Bobby Portis could also be brought into play, but the entire purpose of this trade would be to give Chicago an immediate rebuild.

A combination of Butler or a healthy Rose with Cousins could create the most powerful high-low balance in the Eastern Conference.
