5. Devin Booker, Phoenix Suns

Devin Booker came into the league with reasonable expectations in terms of developing into a serviceable shooting guard down the line, but no one, not even Phoenix, saw this coming.

Not only was he the team’s best three-point option with both Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight missing time this season, but he was quietly a decent playmaker considering he’s the youngest player in the NBA.

He averaged 2.6 assists per game this season, but towards the end the Suns used him as a point guard in some situations and even though he turned the ball over just like any other rookie guard he looked good handling and serving as a primary decision-maker.

If he can continue to work on finishing inside and distributing then his upside is tremendous in a league focused on ball movement and versatility. He’s not just a three-point shooter; he has greater potential.
