Ranking The Top NBA Players By Age: Age 26
14. Markieff Morris
It’s funny, before the 2015-16 season began, Markieff Morris might have cracked the top 10 of this list. He was coming off a career season in which he averaged 15.3 points and 6.2 rebounds per game on 46.5 percent shooting, he was on a bargain of a contract and he had gotten better with every passing year.
But then Phoenix traded his brother, Keef got pissed and demanded a trade, he recanted those demands at Media Day, he came out and proceeded to play like crap and he was a constant distraction in an already miserable season. When all was said and done, the Suns were blessed to get a first round pick out of him at the deadline, shipping him to the desperate Washington Wizards.
With another three years remaining on his contract, Morris still has time to salvage his value. But he didn’t help Washington’s postseason push, his numbers dropped to 11.7 points and 5.5 rebounds per game on 42.2 percent shooting this year, and all those concerns about him being a head case (including the felony aggravated assault charges he still faces) aren’t going anywhere.
