7. DeMar DeRozan
Kyle Lowry is the face of the franchise for the Toronto Raptors, but DeMar DeRozan‘s importance to the offense cannot be understated. He still hasn’t addressed that lack of a consistent three-point shot, shooting 34.1 percent from three-point range this season, but his knack for getting to the foul line helps make up for it.
On the season, DeRozan is averaging 23.6 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game, shooting 44.3 percent from the floor. But a large portion of his offense comes from getting to the foul line 8.5 times per game, where he converts 84.9 percent of his attempts.
DeRozan is a woeful defender, but there’s a reason he earned his second All-Star appearance this season. If it weren’t for Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, we’d probably be talking about the Lowry-DeRozan tandem that’s lighting up the league on the offensive end. Oh, and there’s the high-flying dunks too.
