One of the most exciting aspects about the start of a new NBA season is the expectation every organization has about its team’s chances of competing for a title, or at the very least, a playoff spot. Unfortunately, the reality doesn’t always live up to the hype.
There are a number of reasons why this happens. Perhaps injuries decimate a team at multiple positions, taking away the ability to be competitive due to a lack of continuity. Lack of chemistry between players and coaches is yet another factor that can prevent a team with postseason/title aspirations from reaching its fullest potential.
Regardless if it’s one, or a combination of all of these factors, there are several teams that were expected to be major players in the playoffs within their respective conferences. However, they have failed to live to those lofty expectations. So without further ado, here are the five most disappointing teams from the 2015-16 season.
