Jim Boeheim is Triple H

How did either man get to this point?

In Boeheim’s case, there’s still a lot of mystery. Everybody knows how Triple H got to be the WWE World Heavyweight Champion for the biggest stage in pro wrestling. It was written that way, and a man with an ego like Triple H’s isn’t going to say no to being the man on the show of shows.

Neither Boeheim or The Game are universally loved, though both are highly respected for what they’ve accomplished. This is Boeheim’s second Final Four appearance in the past four years, both times taking teams that seemingly had no business being in the title picture but earning that right regardless.

As for Triple H, this is the second time in the last three years that he’s been inserted into the title picture at WrestleMania despite not competing regularly in over five years.

Tell me you couldn’t imagine Boeheim making this kind of speech.

Both are surefire Hall of Famers, Boeheim having already been inducted into Basketball Hall of Fame in 2005 and the College Basketball Hall of Fame in 2006 and HHH earning that nod whenever he decides to finally hang up the really tight underwear trunks.

Especially after the self-imposed postseason ban last year, Boeheim has seen his outside stock plummet in recent years, though everybody still admires what he’s able to do with his teams. Triple H, on the other hand, has never been loved by everyone, seeing as how he “slept his way to the top” despite being one of the best in-ring workers of his time.

Neither are viewed as people that should have a championship after this weekend, though the possibility remains that both could win.
