Analysis

Throughout the college basketball and professional seasons, Notre Dame Fighting point guard Demetrius Jackson has been on the NBA Draft lottery bubble. Most have him listed as one of the Top 15 prospects available, and his final performance of 2015-16 was evidence enough of why.

Matched up against North Carolina Tar Heels star Marcus Paige, Jackson went off in an attempt to keep an overmatched Notre Dame squad in this Elite Eight affair.

The numbers speak for themselves.

Jackson posted 26 points and four assists to three turnovers in a game that featured a virtual collapse by his team’s defense. North Carolina’s offense erupted, and while Notre Dame produced well, it attempted 10 less free throws and made five fewer field goals.

It was Jackson who kept this game interesting.

True to form, Jackson did it all. He utilized his speed and explosiveness to take over when the game picked up in pace, and showed just as much proficiency in creating offense when it slowed down and the defense was set in the half court.

Jackson is as complete a player as you’ll find in the 2016 NBA Draft, and that includes pro-level athleticism.
