20. Comeback for the Ages
Game 3 of the 2002 Eastern Conference Finals, the Boston Celtics faced a 21-point fourth quarter deficit at what was then called the Fleet Center and came back to win and go up 2-1 in the series. The Celtics pulled off the greatest fourth-quarter comeback in NBA playoff history, with Pierce scoring 19 of his 28 points in the final 12 minutes as Boston overcame a 21-point deficit to beat the New Jersey Nets 94-90.
The Celtics outscored the Nets 41-16 in the final quarter. Boston lost the next three games in the series. The game was a high point during an otherwise dismal run from the end of the first Big Three Era and start of the second Big Three Era.
