10. The Tommy Award

Pro Basketball Hall of Famer Tommy Heinsohn was Boston’s territorial NBA pick out of Holy Cross in 1956. He has been associated with the team as a player, coach or broadcaster nearly every year since.

Playing alongside the likes of Bill Russell, Sam Jones and fellow Holy Cross alumni Bob Cousy, Heinsohn celebrated eight titles in nine seasons, and averaged just under 20 points per game in the playoffs throughout his career. He coached the Celtics to titles in 1974 and ’76.

He’s been yelling at the refs as a Celtics TV broadcast analyst both on site and in studio since 1981.
