Miami Heat, 2012-13
Record: 66-16
Won NBA championship

The Miami Heat finally broke through to the winner’s circle in 2011-12 against the Oklahoma City Thunder, but they took things to a new level in the 2012-13 season. The Heat won 27 straight and 37 of their last 39 regular season games.

Led by LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, the Heat tore through the first two rounds of the playoffs, losing a total of one game to the Chicago Bulls and Milwaukee Bucks, but ran into trouble against the pesky Indiana Pacers. It took seven games to get through the Pacers, and then ran into the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals.

In one of the best Finals series in NBA history, the Heat came back from down 3-2 to beat the Spurs in seven games.

James averaged 26.8 points, eight rebounds and 7.3 assists per game on shooting splits of .565/.406/.753, and won both the NBA MVP and Finals MVP on the strength of 25.3 points, 10.9 rebounds and seven assists per game in the Finals.
