20. Dwyane Wade Baptizes Anderson Varejao

I apologize to any and all NBA fans who didn’t have the privilege of watching Dwyane Wade during his prime years with the Miami Heat. At times, Wade’s ability to create penetration and finish in traffic was, without hyperbole, comparable to Michael Jordan.

If only one highlight is to live on from his vast collection of unforgettable plays, a healthy portion of fans would label this dunk as the keeper.

Wade, listed at 6’4″ and 220 pounds, and Anderson Varejao, listed at 6’11” and 273 pounds, met at the rim for one of the greatest dunks of all-time. Varejao jumped to contest the dunk, but Wade made him pay for attempting to get in his way.

Not only did Wade dunk over the 6’11” big man, but he sent his 270-pound frame crashing to the floor.

Perhaps the best part of the dunk is the mean mugging and trash talking that Wade hits those around him with after the play. It was a shining example of the chip Wade had and has on his shoulder having come from a rather unheralded Marquette Golden Eagles team to dominating the NBA.

Wade recently eclipsed 20,000 career points, and very few of them were better than this.
