25. J.R. Smith Decimates Gary Neal

For whatever the reason may be, no one seems to talk about this gem of a poster dunk. Gary Neal may not be the most imposing rim protector in NBA history—or a rim protector at all—but he was the victim of the type of rim assault that generally receives mention in every poster conversation.

However you may feel about the trajectory of J.R. Smith’s career, even the most bitter of Denver Nuggets, New York Knicks, and, in this case, San Antonio Spurs fans can admit that this was incredible.

Most poster dunks end with a one-hand finish, and that’s why Smith’s dunk over Neal was so easily selected for this list. Not only did he go over and through a player in the paint, but he still managed to finish the play with both hands on the ball and rim.

A two-handed poster dunk is obscenely difficult to pull off, and Smith did it in a way that suggested he had no trouble whatsoever.

He has his fair share of flaws, but Smith is one of the most explosive players in NBA history. His career highlight reel of dunks is downright absurd, including his incredible up-and-under windmill while on the New York Knicks.

If you only watch one of Smith’s dunks, then this is the one to keep in your queue of videos.
