10. Blake Griffin Pulls a Shawn Kemp

Strictly focusing on their dunking ability, many have compared Los Angeles Clippers star Blake Griffin to former Seattle SuperSonics big man Shawn Kemp. The general criticism of Griffin in such a conversation is that he lacked the same physicality and, for the lack of a better word, meanness that Kemp so often displayed.

As Pau Gasol found out during a clash between the Clippers and Lakers, Griffin has no problem being mean to his competitors.

Griffin didn’t just dunk all over Gasol; he put his arm in his face, his hand around the rim, and sent the future Hall of Famer tumbling to the ground. In true Kemp fashion, Griffin stood over Gasol and stared down at him as if he were a lion who had maimed his prey.

The dunk was so bad that even Gasol’s teammate, Andrew Bynum, had to turn and look away.

The slow motion version of the dunk makes it even better:

Unreal.

The icing on the cake of this brutal posterization is that it was the second time Griffin did it to the same player in the same game. The crowd was already going insane, but when the replay was shown, a collective groan was let out at Staples Center.

This play bordered on requiring criminal action to be taken by law enforcement. It was a basketball mugging.
