2016 NBA Rookie Ladder: Is Devin Booker A Star?
9. Stanley Johnson, Detroit Pistons
Stanley Johnson has had his moments this year showing himself as one of the next great two-way wings in the league, but struggles with injury and inconsistent minutes of late have capped any great performances from the first year forward.
The potential is still there. He’s capable of scoring from anywhere on the floor and guarding the opposing team’s best offensive player. There’s a bit of Jimmy Butler in him in terms of his overall game, but it could take time to see Johnson emerge as the same type of worker and leader.
This summer is crucial for determining how wide open his future is. He already has a lot of the tools and skills. Now it’s about putting in the work to make them consistent weapons in his arsenal.
