Ranking The Top NBA Players By Age: Age 24
12. Michael Carter-Williams
Michael Carter-Williams is not a good basketball player, let alone someone who will live up to his billing as a former NBA Rookie of the Year. But he’s also not the useless player that so many of his critics have made him out to be. He’s somewhere in the middle of all the mediocrity that’s been this Milwaukee Bucks season.
Before his season-ending hip surgery, Carter-Williams was averaging 11.5 points, 5.2 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game, though putting up raw numbers had never been his problem. Though he shot a career-high 45.2 percent from the field, he still hasn’t developed a serviceable jump shot. MCW shot just 27.3 percent from three-point range and it got so bad that Jason Kidd relegated his starting point guard to bench duty for 17 games.
Through the first two years of his NBA career, MCW posted numbers similar to what Jason Kidd posted in his first two seasons n the league. But in Year 3, we discovered that there was no basis for those comparisons, and now it appears that backup point guard could be his calling in this league.
