The Boston Celtics have built a roster with young, quality role players and turned it into a borderline contender. Boston is 39-29 overall with a 23-12 record at home and an All-Star point guard who continues to defy the odds.

At 27 years old, Isaiah Thomas has finally shaken the label of being great for his size, and has emerged as a genuine star at the NBA’s deepest position.

With the postseason push upon us, Thomas hasn’t allowed himself to slow down in the slightest. He’s averaging 24.8 points on 45.9 percent shooting from the field over his past 10 games, and while Boston has hit a bit of a wall, Thomas is only getting better.

Most importantly, the Celtics are depending heavily upon the point guard to deliver victories as the No. 14 player in the NBA in Win Shares.

Thomas is currently averaging 22.0 points and 6.5 assists, which isn’t too far removed from what he was doing for the Sacramento Kings. The difference now is that Boston is thriving as a team, and Thomas has figured out how to lead on the court.

The question is, how far can Thomas take them come the postseason?
