Ranking The Top NBA Players By Age: Age 23
Nos. 38-33
38. Bryce Dejean-Jones — Add Bryce Dejean-Jones to the IR for the injury-stricken New Orleans Pelicans. Less than a week after signing a three-year deal with the Pellies, he broke his right wrist. Dejean-Jones is averaging 5.6 points and 3.4 rebounds in 19.9 minutes per game this season and has appeared in 14 games for NOLA.
37. Alan Williams — This is probably a tad high for a 10-day contract who has yet to appear in a game for the Phoenix Suns, but with the way he tore up NBA Summer League (Second Team honors) and the Chinese Basketball Association (20.8 PPG, 15.4 RPG, 2.1 APG, 1.6 BPG, 1.3 SPG), there’s definitely a place for this double-double machine somewhere in the NBA.
36. Pat Connaughton — You might remember Pat Connaughton as the incredibly athletic forward from last year’s Notre Dame team that went to the Elite Eight. So far his NBA career hasn’t been as impressive as his NBA Draft Combine showing, with the Portland Trail Blazers‘ rookie averaging 1.2 points in 3.7 minutes per game…on 30 percent shooting…in 28 appearances.
35. Lucas Nogueira — Nogueira has gotten limited time for a Toronto Raptors team trying to contend for the Eastern Conference belt, but he’s shown signs of promise when he’s been on the floor. The seven-footer from Brazil is averaging 2.2 points and 1.4 rebounds in 6.9 minutes per game and has appeared in 22 contests.
34. Delon Wright — The loaded backcourt of the Toronto Raptors has held Delon Wright back from meaningful minutes in his rookie season, but this combo guard has two-way potential, despite what his season averages (1.7 PPG, 4.3 MPG, 33.3 FG%, 18 games) might indicate.
33. Anthony Brown — Brown hasn’t been used as often as he probably should in a tanking season, but the Los Angeles Lakers rookie has averaged 4.0 points and 2.4 rebounds in 20.7 minutes per game this year. He’s only played in 29 games, though his less than stellar shooting splits (.310/.286/.850) probably have something to do with it.
