Ranking The Top NBA Players By Age: Age 23
5. Rudy Gobert
Rudy Gobert is still severely limited on the offensive end, but what he brings to the defensive end more than makes up for it for the time being. Averaging 9.6 points, 10.9 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game, the Stifle Tower is a huge reason the Utah Jazz still rank 12th in defensive efficiency — despite the season-long absence of Dante Exum and a plethora of injuries to the roster.
Though Gobert’s offense consists mostly of lob dunks and put-backs, he’s still shot an efficient 56.7 percent from the floor. He needs to work on improving his free throw shooting (57.8 percent), but at only 23 years old, he still has plenty of time to add more elements to his low-post game and improve his shooting touch.
On the defensive end, however, the French Rejection is already one of the best rim protectors in the league, and though he’s not the league-leader in blocked shots anymore, those numbers don’t take into account how many shots he alters at the basket.
