16. Austin Rivers

Make your nepotism jokes about Doc Rivers and his son if you must, but don’t overlook the fact that Austin Rivers has quietly developed into a useful bench player for the Los Angeles Clippers.

I’ll admit it: Rivers has not been easy to embrace as a legitimate NBA player. Calling him Austin “Stop The Bleeding” Rivers was a longstanding joke in the Bourguet residence during his Pelicans days since things always seemed to get worse whenever he checked in, and Kevin Harlan’s call of “HERE COMES AUSTIN RIVERS!” will forever be one of the funniest moments I’ve seen on live television.

However, Rivers is averaging 8.0 points in 21.5 minutes per game this season, and though he’s only converted 29.9 percent of his three-pointers, he’s still shooting a career high 43.3 percent from the field. He’s not a Sixth Man of the Year candidate, but he’s better than people give him credit for.
