12. Otto Porter Jr.

Otto Porter Jr. hasn’t exactly exceeded expectations the way most people thought he would after averaging 10.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game on 37.5 percent shooting from deep in the playoffs last year. But he hasn’t been a massive disappointment either, and at 22 years old, there’s still plenty of time for improvement.

Averaging 11.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 30.1 minutes per game on 46.3 percent shooting (all career highs), Porter has cemented his place in the Washington Wizards‘ starting lineup. Though he still needs to work on his long ball (33.3 percent), Washington’s swingman shouldn’t have been given up on or labeled as a “draft bust” so easily.

One year under Paul Pierce might not have been enough for Porter, but he’s on track to be a solid role player in this league — even if he may never live up to the dream of joining John Wall and Bradley Beal to form the Wizards’ new Big Three.
