13. Frank Kaminsky

Don’t look now, but taking Frank Kaminsky with the ninth overall pick in this year’s draft may not turn out to be the dumpster fire everyone thought it was at the time. Though passing on Justise Winslow was probably a mistake for the Charlotte Hornets, Frank the Tank has done his best to prove to the world that he has a future as a productive role player in this league too.

Averaging 7.4 points and 4.1 rebounds in 21.1 minutes per game on the season, this 22-year-old rookie is not only putting up solid numbers, but is doing so in a concrete role for a playoff-bound team that’s surging at the right time. Kaminsky is only shooting 40.6 percent from the field, but his 33.1 percent conversion rate from deep suggests stretch-5 potential.

Frank the Tank doesn’t have superstar potential, but he’s improved his shooting numbers on a month-to-month basis and will only benefit from earning a certified role on a potentially dangerous playoff team.
