10. Bobby Portis
The bright side of a season-ending injury for Joakim Noah and Nikola Mirotic also missing extended time? The #FreeBobbyPortis campaign was given its wings, with the ultra-competitive rookie posting 9.8 points and 7.3 rebounds per game on 41.7 percent shooting from downtown for the month of February.
Fred Hoiberg still probably doesn’t play him enough, even with Mirotic back, but Bobby Portis has a promising future in this league. The Kevin Garnett comparisons shouldn’t extend beyond their competitive fire that borders on insanity, but Portis has already shown that he can spread the floor, rebound and play with intensity every time he steps on the court.
Portis is averaging 7.0 points and 5.1 rebounds per game as a rookie, shooting 43.5 percent from the floor and 33.3 percent from downtown. In his best game of the season, Portis dropped 20 points and 11 rebounds, which is the exact type of production Chicago Bulls fans can look forward to for years to come.
