4. Aaron Gordon

As a rookie, Aaron Gordon‘s season was hindered by injury problems and in his second season, it felt like things were heading in the same direction. But now that Gordon’s healthy and enjoying a starting role with the departures of Channing Frye and Tobias Harris, the former U of A product is proving he can do more than throw down unbelievable dunks in the Slam Dunk Contest.

Of course, Gordon can still do that too, since he’s one of the best in-game dunkers the NBA has to offer right now.

But in 23 games as a starter this season, Air Gordon is averaging 11.4 points and 9.5 rebounds per game on 47.1 percent shooting. He’s only converted 24.5 percent of his three-pointers with the starting unit, but that shot will come with time.

For now, Gordon’s ceiling with the Orlando Magic as an athletic, imposing two-way player is already becoming clear. He’s a versatile defender, a terrific rebounder, a high-flyer and a developing scorer who is only going to get better the more he earns Scott Skiles‘ trust.
