5. Tyus Jones

Unlike Vaughn, Tyus Jones hasn’t been able to get in games on a consistent basis. Though he’s averaging 13.9 minutes per game, he’s only appeared in 20 games for the Minnesota Timberwolves this season. However, ever since the Andre Miller buyout, Jones has seen his role increase off the bench and has been making the most of it.

Averaging 4.4 points, 2.6 assists and 1.7 rebounds per game, Jones has also converted 50 percent of his three-pointers this season despite posting a paltry 38.1 field goal percentage.

In his best game of the season — the Wolves’ most recent game, too — Jones put up a career-high 10 points and six assists on 4-of-7 shooting…even though it came in a 25-point loss to the San Antonio Spurs.

His defense needs a ton of work, especially to compensate for his tiny 6’2″, 195-pound frame. But even in a small sample size, Jones’ fearlessness and respectable 13.0 PER suggest that he’ll be a very capable backup point guard in this league with the right seasoning.
